Who we are
ADECOM Network born in 1992 in Pondicherry (South of India) to fight for the development of indigenous community, in particular Dalit people. The goal of Adecom is to facilitate and support community based organizations that enable Dalit, women and children to intensify and sustain efforts in securing and enhancing basic rights and sustainable livelihoods.
Adecom has 15 members and more than 50 volunteers for promoting social, economical, political and spiritual rights in 16 districts in Tamil Nadu.
Who are Dalits
Dalit means oppressed or rejected and is the named used by most of the “intouchables” or “broken people”. Dalits communities have been suffering from discrimination, abuses and exploitation of their condition.
Our Vision
Adecom works for Dalit’s emancipation from exploitation practices, caste discriminations, atrocities and violence, and to construct community development.
Our Mission
Adecom is coordinating Dalits initiatives, and implementing actions for Youth, Women and Children in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
